I am applying for this position as a Democratic candidate from the 194th district. On May 18th, I hope that you will take the first official step toward hiring me for that position. Over the next several months, I intend to meet as many constituents as possible as part of my interview process.
There will be many opportunities for interviews as I meet you door to door; accept your invitations to meet your neighbors at Meet and Greet gatherings; attend community events; and cross paths at the bus stop, train station and as we go about our daily chores and errands.
During our interview, I will answer your questions about my qualifications and candidacy. I will also have questions for you about your concerns and needs from our state government.
Our current Representative, Kathy Manderino, has served since 1993. Her predecessor, Richard Hayden, served from 1986 to 1993. I have had the privilege and pleasure of knowing and working with both of them.
They have served with integrity and commitment and it is my intention to follow in this tradition of service.
A governing body should reflect the diversity of the constituents that it governs. The Pennsylvania State House currently has 27 women representatives out of a total of 203 representatives.
